The temperature in the cellars is low (13°C). Better carry some warm clothing.
It takes about 40 minutes for a tour. It's a unique and wonderful experience that takes you to a different world. The light, texture, colour, form and temperature of the cellar give you totally new and unique experience.
After the tour they give you one of the varieties of sparkling wine (of their choice) to taste. That tasted nice. However, six variations are available and other varieties if you wish to purchase you have to imagine the taste and make a blind choice.
A small single bottle is €4,30 whereas a pack of three is €13,50. I did not understand the logic of charging 60 cents extra for a simple cardboard box.
Further, if your purchase is less than €10, you need to pay cash. This is also strange as many establishments in Vienna accept card even for less than €1 payment.
Fantastic and interesting place! A little off of the beaten path but well worth it for sparkling wine lovers. Very nice tasting room.
One of the best activities for hot summer afternoon. I tried the classic tasting (€16 incl. 3 glasses of 0,125 l sparkling wine) and it was terrific value. Ladies at the front desk were super nice as well.

Very nice place to get history of one of the oldest and most famous Viennese wines. A bit out of the way but well worth the visit. The self guided tour (using an iPod touch) allows you to pace your visit through the cellars and a glass of bubbly is included in the cost of tour. Kids are free
